The Easter Bunny vs Our Adrenals
Long weekends are a good reminder to take care of our Adrenal Glands (those little additions sitting on top of our kidneys that do so much).
If you've been burning the candle at both ends, then leaving the candle out in the sun & storing it near the heater, then getting a chance for R & R over the next 4 days is super important.
Those highly functioning glands keep us awake through the work day, allow us to cope with stress, deal with the naughty things we eat & drink and keep us going when we need to get all the things in life finished when there's just not enough time. Sound familiar?
If you are lucky enough to have time off over the break, try the following:
· Enjoy a sleep in
· Take a nap
· Eat foods high in B & C vitamins (nuts, fruit, vegetables, seafood)
· Take time to breathe deeply & Chill out
Taking time to rest is not lazy, it’s smart & important and your body will thank you for it down the track.
And remember, the Easter Bunny won’t be offended if you don’t eat his yearly offerings. Easter chocolate is, and will always be optional ;-)
